No Erotica. Please keep it PG13.

We love strong women, older characters, and ones that depict realistic characters, but also adore fantasy.

Editors may request revisions but have final word.

The work submitted must not have appeared in print or online anywhere before.

Have you seen these next guidelines before and don’t know what it means?

While we do encourage adherence to these guidelines it is not absolute. This anthology is specifically designed for those who are just getting their feet wet.  Try and utilize these, however, it will not exclude your story from submissions if it is not exactly right. These are also mentoring projects and we will endeavor to help you understand the ins and outs of these things.

Simultaneous submissions are fine, but please notify us in a timely manner if your work is accepted elsewhere. This means if you sent the same story to more than one publisher and another accepts it, then we can’t use it and you need to let us know asap. But also if we accept your story, another publisher can’t publish it either. It is important that you are mindful of this. To sell it to more than one WILL get you in hot water.

Follow industry standard format for your submission, minus identifying information on the document itself. We do blind reads but need a complete cover letter.

Wow this seems complex, right? Not really because below we tell you what it means.

Cover letter should include your name, publishing name if different, address, email, word count, story title, and a short bio.

This means the first page of your submission should have all the info we need to pay you and get you published. Give us your name so the check can be cashed (however, we use PayPal and Venmo {preferred}) What if you don’t want to be you and you want to be Suzie or Freddy writelife? We need to know that too. How shall we communicate? Email is our preference so give it up. How many words you giving us? Pretty easy, right? Do you have a title in mind? NO? that’s OK, just offer up a thought as to where your mind was when writing and we will help you find one. And finally the dreaded bio. This is who are you? Give it your best shot, because we are going to help you refine this for future use.

Your story should be in DOC or DOCX format. All that this means is Microsoft Word or another word processing document.

We prefer Times New Roman, 12-pt, double spaced.

**Remove any identifying information from your document/header, please. Why is this here? We have your stories judged by a number of authors and editors for submission. We want to make sure that no one has an edge, and that there are no favorites here. Except of course our favorite stories.

**Your work will be instantly rejected if it does not meet our word-count length or does not contain the words indicated or follow the theme.

***We will make every attempt to respond to submissions promptly. You can, however, withdraw your submission at any time.
